Senior Recreational Specialist, City of Aurora
I am married to a Kindergarten teacher so I have a connection to the education world. I was also a teacher and was the E.C.E. Director for a CCP program for DPS for 7 years. I saw the need for parents to be involved in their child’s education and to ensure their child gets the very best educational experience they could. I have three great children. Who are all pursuing their passions.
I enjoy working with communities both in Aurora and the Metro area. I am currently the Supervisor of the Meadow Wood and Expo Recreation Centers for the city of Aurora. I also do consulting on community engagement in Aurora, the metro area and in Africa.
I help communities to become the change advocates and voices of their communities. By giving them the tools, information and connections they need to help build the community they want and need. I have been with Rise Board since it started and I enjoy the work of the Rise organization as it lines up with my goals and mission to make sure all voices are heard.
I sit on the Denver Foundation Board and serve on many other Boards, advisory committees. Again, I applaud the work of RISE and will continue to support and advocate for the parents to be the voice for their child’s education.
