Lah Gay Moo is the Burmese Community Organizer. She builds relationships with Burmese community members by visiting their homes, facilitating workshops in the Karen language, and helping them navigate the school system. Previously, Lah Gay Moo spent nine years working with an organization supporting Karen women in Thailand to become leaders. She taught women about human rights, women’s rights, and democracy. She is originally from Burma and grew up in a refugee camp in Thailand. She came to the United States in 2014 with her husband and two children. Her family lives in Aurora and attends Aurora Public Schools.
