Asia Lyons is a School-Partner Specialist at RISE Colorado. She has twelve years of experience as a teacher and school equity coordinator in the Cherry Creek School District. She has taught at the elementary and middle school level in a variety of courses. While a CCSD employee she represented Colorado at the National Education Associations Representatives Assembly. Originally from Detroit, she and her husband moved to Aurora in 2006. Asia graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with her Bachelors in Elementary Education. She received her master’s degree in Teacher Leadership in 2016 from Walden University. Currently, she is studying to receive her doctorate from the University of Colorado – Denver in the area of Leadership for Educational Equity with a concentration in Urban and Diverse Communities. Asia and her husband, Cliff, have one child, Zoe. A self-proclaimed nerd, she enjoys reading as well as traveling and singing in her car.
